Birds.

I meant to post this ages ago...

I have been taking a lot of bird pictures lately. One of my fav birds is a crow I named White Wing. He is partially albino, and is often seen with another, rather-larger-then normal crow.
My Uncle Brian is visiting, along with my two cousins, and he is a bird fanatic as well. He ran a marathon two days ago.

And now for Birds. (And pics of Uncle Brian doing the Marathon).

I actually took way more, but I'm only posting a few.

It Snowed!!!

How long have I been missing?! 4 MONTHS!!!!!???? Oh dear, I am really terrible at keeping track of time... Well.... I've been busy... I promise that I will write the next part of Element in the near future and that I will keep up with my life on this blog. And if I don't keep my promise then feel free complain in the comments.

Anyway, the purpose of this post...

It snowed!!!  The first big snowfall of the year!!! So obviously Isaac and Alex went outside to build a snow man...

July.

July is a summer month in all respects, and now we must move on to August. August is a vacation month, the month we're you realize that you have too many things happening, and you wish desperately that you could go back to July. For us this year, its the other way around, and I look forward to a semi relaxing August, because, honestly, there are still things going on.

But July is a brave month, and I feel we should bid a respectful farewell.

Rain.

Writing poetry about rain is hard, but it is still one of my favorite subjects. Capturing the actual feeling of it is a challenge I enjoy.

5 Minute Rain.

Wind,
drives saltless tears
like fists
into pavement.
Pounding,
pouring rage
into a thunderous
drone.
Bounces on
impact,
shocked by its
failure.
It tries,
and tries
again.

After the Rain.

Damp
hangs like
dead breath
in the air.
Feathers rustle,
lost in leaves
and
branches.
A voice rings out,
a shrilling tone of
rebirth.

Caught by Rain.

Bars of water
imprison
the lost.
Unsuspecting,
they walked,
jerked back by the
the shock
and joy
of wet.

Photography.

Recently I have discovered a deep and profound love for photography, and using our brand new, super top quality camera(well at least the best I've had!), I have taken many a picture.
I love to photograph birds, plants, and Alex. One of my fav subjects is a robin I have named Glipper. He is identifiable by the fleck of white under his right wing.
These are not all of my pics, trust me.

A rock.

Behold, Glipper.

Starling.

A warbler, I think its a Black and Yellow warbler.

White throated sparrow. Mom's fav bird.

Alex. Shortly after I took this pic, he fell in the water.

Glipper with worms.

Glipper still with worms.

Behold the epic-ness of Daley.
This is a pic of a stream, but all you can see is the reflection of the trees above.

Contemplating life.

Happy Canada Day!

I did a ski camp this past weekend, and it only just wrapped up at lunch today, so I am really, really, tired. Not much is happening today. But I am a Patriotic Canadian, and will honor our country as best as is my capability.

My way is to take pictures of the amazing day we have today. It is sweltering out. We also got a snazzy new camera, so I was excited to test it out.

The view of the bay from our house.

Its so nice out!!!

This picture was really cool.

Birthday Mist?

This was supposed to be posted 2 days ago on June 26.

Happy Birthday Mom!!!
As you can see it's Moms birthday, so I have written an Acrostic birthday poem for her.

Jennifer.

June
Excellent
Nice
Nicer
Intelligent
Fun
Energetic
Runner.

My mom is a wonderful person, as well a mom, and when I say she's intelligent, I'm not just saying it, I mean it. She is one of the smartest people I know. Really. If people where just willing to listen, she could change the world single handily.
There will be a lack of pictures today because our camera had an unfortunate accident... You'll have to use your imagination.

Now for the mist part of the blog post. I know I have already posted a poem, a haiku specifically,  about mist in the past, but yesterday it was so misty out, I had to write another. I'm talking about mist so thick that when you look out your window, you can't see half way down your street.

An Ode to Mist.

Mist,
breathes life
into your shadow,
whispers along
your spine,
seeps into your hair and
eyes.
Shelters
you from yourself.

Tell it your secrets,
and forget all
about them.
The mist owns
them now.

As you can see, I feel very safe when surrounded by mist.
